The City Attorney provides legal advice and counsel to the Mayor, Board of Aldermen and City Administrator on the entire range of the City’s functions and serves as a legal resource for the departments of city government. The City Attorney provides legal advice and support for city Boards and Commissions as requested by the City Administrator.

 As the prosecuting attorney representing the City of Osage Beach in Municipal Court the City Attorney advises the Police Department and Codes Enforcement Officer on the preparation of cases to be presented in Municipal Court.

 Attorneys representing defendants in Osage Beach Municipal Court may call the City Attorney directly if they wish to discuss a pending matter.

 Biographical Summary

 Edward Rucker received his Juris Doctor in 1977 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. He was in private practice in Kansas City from 1978 to 2004, and also served as a prosecutor in Kansas City Municipal Court handling traffic, zoning, building and nuisance code violations.

 In 2004 Mr. Rucker was appointed County Counselor for Jackson County Missouri. During his tenure as County Counselor, Jackson County successfully negotiated 25 year lease extensions with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals to remain at Arrowhead and Kauffman stadiums and passed a 3/8s cent sales tax to fund refurbishing the stadiums to maintain them as state of the art major league facilities.
